What does the Judges sees?

Physical Development

Muscle Size

• How much muscle bulk has he/she got?
• Is it all hard muscle or just flab?

Muscular Definition

• Has he/she good muscle 'cutting'?
• Is this so even when he stands relaxed?

Overall Proportion

• Do his/her various parts combine to make a good whole, balanced and pleasing to the eye?

Bone Structure, etc

• Has he/her developed broad shoulders?
• And deep rib-box?
• Does he/her stand with a good posture?
• Any other defects; e.g. bow legs, skin blemishes, bad teeth, and so on?

Muscular Completeness

• Have any muscles or muscle groups been neglected e.g. Neck, forearm, calf?
• Have individual muscles and / or group been developed to a good shape?

Posing Ability

Performance

• Does he execute each pose well, without showing strain?
• Does he hold each pose the right length of time?
• Does he direct his posing towards the judge?

Choice of Poses

• Has he chosen poses to show off his own good points to the best effect?
• Has he arranged them so he can move from one to the next smoothly without wasted movement?
• Does his posing routine comply with the rules of the contest? e.g. time allowed, number and type of poses?

Mental Approach

Confidence

• Does he look confident and pleasant throughout the contest?
• Does he stand up well in the line-up?
• Does he show awareness of, and due respect for, audience and judges?
• Or does he overdo it and show off too much?

Neatness

• Shaved his body hair? Tidy head?
• Posing trunks suitable and neat.
• If suntanned, is it even?

Important: DO NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT his past record in other contest.

NOR the reaction of the audience;

NOR his height - skin color - handsome or ugly face - (unless they are really abnormal!!)
