It will emphasize the synthesis of mechanics and anatomy in order to understand and apply these concepts to performance and the development of skill.

Text: McGinnis, P. Second Edition. (2005). Biomechanics of Sports and Exercise.

Goals: To have knowledge and an understanding of the following:

  • Fundamental Biomechanical concepts, principles and terminology.
  • External forces, torque, work, power and energy.
  • Linear and angular motion.
  • Anatomical and physiological application.

  • "Dartfish", a computer program illustrating video-analysis of motion.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the last 5 days, starting from the 25 Oct to 29 Oct, I was attending the above course at National Sports Institute (ISN), Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The course gave me alot of insides on the need to incorporate video-analysising and improving the way I could do coaching in my specific field.

I had a lot of fun studying, doing the practical (for video-analysis motion) at the Biomechanic Lab and class - group presentation (after analysizing the motion).

This course is a must for all levels of coaches, who have the interest of the athletes in their heart and sports their passion to improve.
